Ink and Cartridges Setup
🧩 Step 1: Prepare Your Printer
- Power ON your printer.
- Open the front/top cover or cartridge access door (depending on model).
- Wait until the cartridge holder moves to the center and stops. ⚠️ Do not touch the cartridge carriage while it’s moving.
🖋️ Step 2: Unpack the Ink Cartridges
- Remove the new ink cartridges from their packaging.
- Gently remove the plastic tape or orange clip covering the ink nozzle and contacts. 💡 Be careful — don’t touch the copper or gold contact points or ink nozzles, as this can cause poor connection or ink flow issues.
🧠 Step 3: Insert the Ink Cartridges
- Identify the color codes (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) — each slot is usually labeled.
- Insert each cartridge into its correct slot until it clicks firmly into place.
- Close the cartridge access door.
⚙️ Step 4: Align the Printhead (Important)
After installing ink, most printers automatically prompt for printhead alignment.
If not, do it manually:
- On the printer’s display, go to
Setup → Maintenance → Printhead Alignment (names vary by brand). - The printer will print an alignment sheet.
- Follow the on-screen steps to scan or confirm the alignment.
✅ This ensures clean, sharp printing and prevents misaligned text or colors.
🧾 Step 5: Print a Test Page
- From your computer, open the printer app or driver software.
- Choose “Print Test Page” or “Nozzle Check.”
- Check for missing lines or faded colors.
- If needed, run “Printhead Cleaning” once or twice.
🩸 Step 6: For Ink Tank / Continuous Ink Printers
If you have an Ink Tank printer (like Epson EcoTank, Canon G Series, or HP Smart Tank):
- Open each tank lid and fill ink up to the line using the correct color bottle.
- Let the printer charge ink (takes 5–10 minutes).
- Run a test print to confirm proper ink flow.
💡 Always use original ink bottles/cartridges to avoid clogs and warranty issues.
